
The Ministry of Culture organized an event titled "An Immortal Diwan" at Khan As'ad Pasha in Damascus, attended by Minister of Culture Muhammad Yassin Al-Saleh. The event celebrated World Poetry Day and aimed to support poetic creativity and enhance its presence in the cultural landscape. The event included a poetry evening featuring a selection of poets who presented diverse texts reflecting the richness of poetic experience. It also featured artistic performances and interactive competitions that engaged the audience, emphasizing their role in enriching the event. Minister Al-Saleh affirmed that World Poetry Day is a significant occasion in the Arab cultural scene, given its profound significance in expressing the deep connection between poetry and the nation's heritage and values. He pointed to the importance of showcasing the creative works of contemporary Syrian poets, while simultaneously highlighting the rich Arab poetic legacy. He stressed that celebrating this occasion embodies the belief in the role of poetry in consolidating intellectual and cultural awareness and strengthening its presence in public life.
